This privacy policy was last updated: 03/03/2026.
Information collected or stored:
YesSpecial Mention: Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 March 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AI Web Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the My Taywood Alexa skill (the "Skill"), also known in the Alexa Skills Store as Taywood AI.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Who we are
Data Controller: AI Web Ltd
Privacy contact: hello@aiwebltd.co.uk
Data Protection Contact: Alec Isherwood, AI Web Ltd
Policy page: https://aiwebltd.co.uk/apps/my-taywood/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) What the Skill does
My Taywood provides AI-powered answers to your requests. You can ask questions and, if you choose, use an optional memory feature so the Skill can remember facts you tell it (for example your location, name, or preferences) to give more relevant answers. Memory is optional and is only used if you agree to it and keep it turned on. You can turn memory off or reset it at any time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Information we collect
We aim to collect the minimum information needed to operate the Skill.
A) Skill requests and responses (content)
What it is: The text of your request (as received from Alexa) and the Skill's response.
Why we collect it: To operate the Skill, troubleshoot issues, meet safety and legal obligations, and (where relevant) to detect sensitive or harmful content and take action such as alerts or blocking.
How long we keep it: 28 days on a rolling basis, then it is deleted automatically.
B) Identifiers and usage (pseudonymous)
What it is: An identifier that Alexa provides (such as a user or device identifier) that we use to run the Skill. We use it to apply rate limits, prevent abuse, verify premium entitlements, and (if you use memory) to associate your stored facts with your sessions. We do not receive your Amazon account name, email, or payment details from Alexa for this purpose.
Why we collect it: To run the service safely, prevent abuse, apply rate limits, block misuse (for example unlawful use), and to provide the optional memory feature when you have enabled it.
How long we keep it: Usage and identifier data are retained as long as needed for operation and abuse prevention. Request logs (which reference this identifier) are kept for 28 days as above. We may retain specific records longer where required to investigate abuse or comply with legal obligations.
C) Memory data (optional, only if you enable it)
What it is: If you turn on the memory feature and consent to data storage, we store facts you choose to tell the Skill (for example your location, name, date of birth, or preferences). We may also use information that Alexa can provide (such as your given name or country/postal code) if you have granted the Skill the relevant permissions in the Alexa app, to pre-fill or improve memory.
Why we collect it: To provide personalised answers (for example "When is Mother's Day in my country?") when you have asked us to remember such information.
How long we keep it: Until you reset memory or turn off the memory feature, after which we clear your stored memory data. You can reset or turn off memory at any time via voice.
D) Purchases and entitlements (In-Skill Purchasing)
What it is: When you buy premium content (for example Taywood Pro), Amazon processes the purchase. We verify entitlement via Amazon APIs so we can provide premium access.
What we do not store: We do not store your payment card details, your Amazon payment information, or your shipping details. These are handled by Amazon.
How long we keep it: Entitlement verification is processed as needed. We do not store purchase details beyond what is required to confirm access at the time.
E) Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- your real name, address, phone number, or email through the Skill (except where you choose to tell us something in memory, or where Alexa provides limited profile/address data as described above)
- precise location data (we may receive country or postal code from Alexa if you have granted that permission and use memory)
- special category data (for example health information), unless you choose to share it in a request or in memory
Please avoid sharing unnecessary personal or sensitive information in your requests.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide and operate the Skill
- generate responses to your requests
- provide the optional memory feature when you have enabled and consented to it
- protect users and prevent misuse (including scanning for sensitive or harmful content and taking action such as alerts or blocking)
- troubleshoot bugs and improve reliability
- administer the service (for example internal tools to manage usage, blocklists, and safety)
- comply with legal obligations (for example responding to lawful requests and safety-related reporting where required)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) Our legal bases for processing (UK GDPR)
We rely on one or more of the following:
- Performance of a contract … to deliver the Skill's functionality you request, including optional memory if you use it.
- Consent … where you have agreed to the optional memory feature and data storage.
- Legitimate interests … to secure the Skill, prevent fraud/abuse, maintain service quality, and enforce our policies.
- Legal obligation … where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable laws or lawful requests.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
We may share information only as necessary with:
A) Amazon (Alexa)
Amazon provides the Alexa platform and handles voice processing, account administration, and (where enabled) purchases. Amazon's processing is governed by its own policies and settings within your Alexa app and Amazon account.
B) Service providers (processors)
We use the following processors to run the Skill:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) … hosting and infrastructure (using Ireland region)
- Google Cloud Firebase (Firestore) … data storage (using London region)
- OpenAI … to generate responses to your requests (AI processing)
These providers process information on our behalf under contractual terms designed to protect data.
C) Legal and safety disclosures
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:
- comply with law or lawful requests
- protect users, the public, or our systems
- investigate and help prevent abuse, fraud, or illegal activity
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7) International transfers
Some of our processors may process data outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections and recognised transfer mechanisms where required.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8) Data retention
- Requests and responses (request logs): retained for 28 days on a rolling basis, then deleted.
- Memory data (if enabled): retained until you reset memory or turn off the memory feature.
- Identifiers and usage: retained as long as needed for operation, rate limiting, and abuse prevention; we may retain specific records longer where required for investigation or legal obligations.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9) Security
We take security seriously and use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. If we become aware of a security incident that affects personal data, we will act promptly to investigate, mitigate risk, and comply with any applicable notification requirements.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10) Your rights (UK GDPR)
Depending on your circumstances, you may have the right to:
- access your personal data
- correct inaccurate data
- request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
- restrict or object to certain processing
- data portability (where applicable)
- lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
How to exercise your rights
Email hello@aiwebltd.co.uk with your request.
Because we use identifiers that do not directly reveal your identity, we may ask for information that helps us locate your records (for example, details of the time and content of a recent interaction) while minimising additional data collection. If you use the memory feature, you can also reset or turn off memory at any time via voice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11) Children's privacy
The Skill is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on the policy page listed above, and the "Effective date" will be updated.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
13) Alexa Shopping disclaimer (purchases)
This skill may use Alexa Shopping to make purchases on Amazon. Alexa allows purchasing by voice using your default payment and shipping settings. You can set a voice confirmation code, turn off purchasing, and see product and order details in your Alexa app.
Changes to this privacy policy
We reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by giving notice to its users on this page and possibly within this application and/or - as far as technically and legally feasible - sending a notice to users via any contact information available to the owner. It is strongly recommended to check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification listed at the top of this privacy section.
This privacy statement has been prepared based on provisions of multiple legislations, including Art. 13/14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation).
This privacy policy relates solely to this Application, if not stated otherwise within this document.
